In Belgium, there are more improvements:

- Weekend trains are introduced again on the Antwerp - Puurs line - they were discontinued in 1984
- also, there will be a weekend service on the Halle - Etterbeek - Mechelen line.

The media was out in force at Nuremberg today, for a press launch of the new high speed line to Erfurt (and on to Berlin)!

At 21:53 the last 2 Buffels (train 3400) will run for the last time from Groningen to Zwolle as a stoppingservice. Diesel under an electric wire!

A few other interesting changes in DB land:
- connected with the new high speed line, a two-hourly Nürnberg-Sonneberg RE service goes over the high-speed line and is booked to be top'n'tailed by Railpool Vectrons (presume because they have LZB signalling that the Regio units don't);
- CD Vectrons taking over the Praha-Berlin service (initially only to Dresden, but later working through);
- Gaubahn out of Stuttgart getting an hourly IC service. As the new 147.5s aren't available yet, the service is two hourly Stuttgart-Singen (booked 146.5+double decks) and two-hourly Stuttgart-Zürich as now (but DB section is meant to go over to ÖBB Taurus locos!).

You mean ETCS, the new line isn't equipped with LZB.

And in theory ÖBB Taurus locos could work throughout as they are passed for Switzerland.
They’re not. Only Railjet locos 1116201-223 are equipped for Switzerland. They would need Swiss train protection systems and pantographs fitting before they could run through.
