Does anybody know is EU Train Driver Licence valid in UK? Thanks for any replies!

The EU licence is currently being rolled out across the UK. All new entrants to the grade must now hold the licence and all existing Drivers must have it by October 2018. International Drivers, Managers and Instructors must also have the licence now. You may only drive traction on routes and infrastructure noted on your certificate counterpart. The licence itself only proves you meet the medical and psychometric standard.

If you are a European driver, you will still have to be trained to UK standards.
It looks like another layer of bureaucracy; what matters is the Certificate of Competence to Drive Trains, issued by your employer.

I have been issued with a non descript sheet of A4 with some scribbles on it, I assume this is what passes for a licence these days! ;) :lol:
