eTicket format for Season Tickets

Hello! I'm buying a Period Season ticket from the LNER website with no TOC restrictions, and it offers me the option of an eTicket. My questions are:
  • Is it safe to assume that this format will be painlessly accepted by all of the TOCs that serve the route (EMR, CrossCountry and Northern)?
  • Would it be any harder, or easier, to refund a season eTicket than a paper ticket?
  • It asks for my Photocard number. Would I just need to show my paper Photocard alongside the eTicket?
Sorry if these are really basic questions. It's been a while and season eTickets weren't a thing when I was last commuting. Thanks in advance :)
