Good Afternoon, I am interested in learning about the various types of ETH used on British diesel locomotives and in the forum of generator cars if possible?

Is there any really detailed informative websites covering the various types of ETH and the generator sets that have been used for supplying the ETH?

I am a nuts and volts type person and want to learn the mechanics of ETH and how it works and what exactly has been done over the last 50 years.
