I'd like to know when this training starts.. it's been mooted for ages
Training will begin at a suitable point in advance of Stage B/TB2 going live. But the TB2 launch date has been pushed back many times and is still not 100% confirmed, so there would be little point beginning training now as it would likely end up with drivers needing refreshers.

Drivers at MTR are starting the ETCS TB2 training on Monday 3rd July. Been told it goes live on 26th Nov 23, but then they were told Decemeber 18, so who knows.

Can’t see it being live in November as no training for any GWR driver has started or even been talked about yet, it will be interesting to see when it does go live, especially how many more ETCS failures take place, I assume it will only affect us in our normal 387’s, can’t see them fitting it to a turbo just for that little bit and then 800 are exempt due to ATP not being able to transition, so I can’t really see much benefits but that’s for another thread

Training is all ready to go, but as I said above a start date for training is very much tied in with the date when TB2 goes live. Reading & Padd drivers will be trained in Level 2 so they can work the HEx ECS moves between Reading TCD and Paddington/West Ealing, which will operate in Level 2 between Stockley Bridge and Ealing. Non-ETCS 387s (i.e, the green ones) are not affected, nor are 80x and 16x.

I wonder if they can just activate it for us and our 345s and not for GWR's fleet? Our training definitely started today and the company seem very insistent it will go live at the end of November. Then again, we did do lots of CBTC refresh courses due to the delays with the tunnel.
