[ESP] High-speed line in Catalonia

Last year, when travelling down the AP-7/E-15 (Spain's east coast motorway) on the way to the Costa Blanca, I noticed that there were concrete supports in place for a new high-speed line. I think it will run from Madrid to Barcelona via Zaragoza. The Spanish 'east coast main line' runs alongside the motorway for most of its length, with the impressive high viaduct over the River Ebro being one of the most famous landmarks along the route.

When is this due to open? I was reading about this a while back. And isn't it going to link into a new TGV line to Perpignan?

Changed at Perpignan last week.. looks like a building site, so it's gonna be a while yet methinks.

Who would want to go to Blanes anyway. It's a right dump, unless it's been rebuilt over the past few years.

Ah just seen you're from Scunny.. I suppose take your TV to Spain believing you can watch Corrie on it out there, take baked beans, get confused as to why cats miaow in Spain, still point at planes and ask where the nearest McDonald's is....
That's why I go to Blanes....very few northerners or other scummy Brits come to that..

No the reason is I had a holiday in Blanes a few years ago. After 3 days, I checked out of the Hotel and went a few miles up the coast to Tossa de Mar. Much more civilised (and peaceful). Llorett (sp?) is nearly as bad as Blanes ....

You sure you didn't go to Los Pinos, which is at the south end of Blanes? Now that part is like Lloret, but Blanes is just an old working village, but has been modernised of late. No discos, most bars shut at 2am and very quiet.
