Not really indirectly even. The issues described are very long standing issues with some TfL staff, and nothing at all to do with programming of barriers at the NR station.

Everything's solvable if someone cares. Stop paying the supplier's extortionate maintenance contract until they get their act together. Or more importantly, get performance clauses in the contract in the first place.

The rail industry is great with excuses whilst treating its customers like criminals at the first sign of any ticket irregularity. And so we blunder on in "we've always done it that way" mode.

I mean, they have a point. These are genuine problems that GBRTT or Shadow GBR or whatever they're called this week should be looking to improve.

Let's hope that things get better as more gate suppliers enter the market.

I think S&B have some good taste in the suppliers they work with Everything I've seen so far suggests they've done a pretty decent job on the gates, and I look forward to seeing their TVM improvements.
