Yeah, didn't 063 have to go through that too? But how long did it take from 063 arriving in Rectory to it hitting the rails on the mainline on that first test?

063 was overhauled and repainted into the short-lived ESH livery at Toton. It ran from there to Longport on 12th May, having undergone a loaded test on 15th January.

063's overhaul was certainly protracted - it seems to have first gone inside at Toton in 2022.

Heritage Rail Traction Ltd are specialist locomotive engineers based around the Stockport/Manchester area, if you have access to facebook there are some excellent photos on the 'Class 60' facebook page of them carrying out a power unit overhaul, perhaps one of the DCR engines for either 60013 or 60060?

I am led to believe that the most progressed engine overhaul at Heritage Rail out of the two engines there is the one for 60060 due to David Fletchers comment a while back saying 060 had overtaken 013 in overhaul

Yes. I noticed a comment on the FB page implying that - great news.
I am wondering whether there is a float power unit or two, or whether it is "one out", repair, and same power unit back in.

The bit that surprises me is that DB nee EWS didn't upgrade the fuel capacity on all those "super 60s" so that Ops could be standardised on fuel range.

Yeah I got to catch it, all nameplates removed from all the locos that had one previously, which appears to be what happens now (I think there was only one loco so far that’s retained its nameplate)

Nice shot. Did you see which the third 60 was? Thought it was only meant to be 001 and 062.

Seen it mentioned elsewhere it was 60100. I can stand down again.

022 is a DCR 60.

That’s a DC Rail loco, so a different company. There was a comment on the DC Rail thread about some of their future re-engineered loco’s potentially sporting different liveries.

No word yet on what livery the next EPR 60’s will sport, although I’d be surprised if they deviated much from what they used on 063.

The locos being sent from Toton are all ex DB now belonging to ESH/EPR. The DCR locos are stored elsewhere but some have been sent to Colwick. So basically there are some DCR and ESH/EPR tugs at Colwick at the moment but they are from different origins.

60022 and 60060 are DCR locos plus 56045 which is at Rectory Junction for repair, all other 60s (001, 024, 062, 066, 074 & 100) are EPR, haven't seen any pictures recently but presumably EPR 050 & 086 are still in (almost) one piece
