Hi everyone. I'm a bit embarrassed to need to ask this, since I used to live in Belfast and knew a lot more about the trains back then.

However, it seems that there is quite a sharp difference in the booking horizon for one-way trips on the Enterprise depending on whether you are going Belfast-Dublin or Dublin-Belfast.

Translink seem to have a 4-week booking horizon, while IÉ are open far further in the future.

Is there a danger that by the time Translink open sales, we will have missed the cheaper fares?

Each operator only sells single and return tickets starting at their end of the service, so if you're traveling from Belfast you have to buy from Translink, if you travel from Dublin you have to buy from Irish rail.

AFAIK ticket prices for Belfast originating passengers are a lot higher than those originating in Dublin: https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c0jj3d4kwkzo
Translink has dropped prices since that article, so it may not be an issue any longer
