English Electric Weekend

Saturday 6th April & Sunday 7th April 2013

Open Times 10:00 – 16:30

The Crewe Heritage Centre is pleased to announce its English Electric Weekend. What’s it all about? Well English Electric locomotives have been present on the railways since the 1950s and some classes have been seen regularly around the Crewe area, even today. This event celebrates all things English Electric and is supported by DRS who will provide (subject to availability) a number of locomotives for display and the resident English Electric Class 73 locomotive will be used to give brake van rides and driver experience. So why not come along and see what the fuss is about?

Event Features

- Visiting DRS Locomotives
- Class 73 giving Brake Van rides
- Driver experience (Charge £10)

- Nameplates display, Diesel related Crests etc.
- Films showing footage of English Electric built Locomotives
- CFPS Sales stand
- APT (Advanced Passenger Train)
- Three working Signal Boxes
- Standard Gauge Locos on display: 03073, 37108, 47192 (D1842), 73006, 87035, 5553, 5224 & 71000 Duke Of Gloucester
- Centre's Gift Shop Open
- Centre's Cafe Open For Refreshments

Plus all of the Heritage Centre's attractions will also be open.

Admission Charges: Family £14, Adults £6, Children £3, Seniors £3
