Engineering work around Water Orton

For the last couple of weekends, there has been no XC services between Birmingham and Tamworth after 10:45 on Saturdays, due to work taking place at Water Orton with long distance routes being diverted via the Cross City.

What work is being done?

As I recall, it was the same situation this time last year.

Well yeah, I assumed that, but for those of us not in the know, what is being done that effects the XC route?

Aston Church Road bridge prep. Some S&C work as well I think. There will be another block in August, as well as Xmas and Feb next year.
