(I have to confess: I found an acronym search engine last night...And used it for all of my results except for TRK IND and AP OLE/AC-i, which were both intuitive guesses on my part! )

COSS is right, but what does the 'T' stand for?

Well...Someone else said "Track" in an earlier post and got it wrong, so I was specifying "Train" for mine.
If it's neither of those though, I can only guess that "Temporary" might be the T in CoSS(T) then...At least without suggesting a lot of regular but unwritten engineering terms featuring many four-letter words...

The T is the first part of another acrynome. It signifies that the holder is competent in applying a piece of equipment to the track {quite why, i don't know, as a Lookout is passed out on similar equipment without breaking a sweat}.

I tried to cheat (oh, is it Trackman by the way?) and typed in 'Trackchargeman' and on the first page of results was this
