Hi Guys,

Can you help us out with a question?

Like the city of London was The Dutchess of Sutherland also red when the number was prefixed with a 4 (46233).

Many thanks.

Duchess of Sutherland was withdrawn in 1964 from Edge Hill. IIRC, BR had decided by then to allow the regions a bit more freedom over livery choices, and so the LMR decided to start painting their locos maroon, and of course Duchesses were top of the list, so it's very likely. One which I know went maroon was 46229 Duchess of Hamilton.
