Looks like there will be a good line up there.

Doesn't this Swanage event fall on the same weekend as the Mid Hants' End of Southern Steam gala.

Yes if i am right in understanding Swanage was known publically about this events months before MHR planned their event.

I'm debating whether to go to the Swanage's End of Southern Steam event or the Mid Hants' End of Southern Steam event on the Saturday. Sunday I might catch Clan Line and Nelly at least once.

I went to the Swanage beer gala and haven't been to the Mid Hants since the 2005 Diesel Gala. I'll probably go to the Mid Hants.

According to the UK Steam website the route for 30777 is Victoria-East Croydon-Guildford-Alton, Alton-Havant-Eastleigh-Basingstoke-Waterloo.

Swanage will have three Standard 4s and one standard 5.

Dont worry, i'll be staying loyal to my local line and attending at Swanage. Give me a chance to see couple of people again after work experiance in two weeks.

Failure to mention the USA lookalike which will look nothing like anything ive seen before, should be an interesting sight! Hoping the M7 will be ready?

Would 35005 be in steam because I have been told that its boiler ticket as expired.:-?

Not sure, both the Merchant Navy 35005 and one of the West Countrys have had their Boiler fittings removed, they are both undergoing certification at current.

I think Bittern will be ready by then, most likley the main attraction.

Ah yes 30777. I haven't seen her before so I will most definatly go to the Mid Hants.

Don't hold your breath or make your plans for 30777. Slight problem with overrunning engineering works!

According to the ever-reliable www.uksteam.info, Tangmere will be standing in for 30777 with a diesel on the Guildford to Alton leg "due to pathing difficulties".

In May, the line up included 34007 Wadebridge, 34016 Bodmin, 35005 Canadian Pacidic(Running as 35008 Orient Line) 41312 and 73096. The 33 will be pulling dumped locos from the pool of locos awaiting restoration/overhaul at Ropley

Taken from Railways Illustrated, that will be a good site, 2 unrebuilt bullieds (Wadebridge and Tangmere) and 2 rebuilt bullieds (34016 and 35005) nice line up of proper locos!

The Guildford - Alton portion of the tour should be hauled by 37248 if that is still based in London by then; it provided assistance for the last Steam Dreams tour out of Victoria.

Will definately be at Bentley or somewhere to phot that.
