Enclosing Sticky cards

Just wondering what other people may think about this. I have just received my new Driving Licence (re-issued every 3 years due age 70+ and diabetes sufferer) and is stuck to the covering letter. This, blue-tack or whatever it is, is difficult to remove in it's entirety with the result that when carried in my wallet is inclined to stick to other things. I've found this a process used by many companies and agencies now when enclosing cards and wondering if other people have this problem.

It's a sort of glue that sometimes leaves a residue if you peel if off. Only way I've sorted it is giving the card a scrub with warm water and a detergent.

I use lighter fluid (petrol) for cleaning things like that, much more effective than detergent. It's worth keeping a can (£1 in most shops) in the cupboard, it can come in useful for a lot a tricky cleaning problems. It also has the advantage that it doesn't dissolve most common plastics.

I went to get some money out from the bank the other day and it was too much to get out of the cash point and my driving license which I was using for ID had gone out of date the day before! I had no idea.
So when I get a new one I'll see how much glue there is and report back on how I dealt with it.

Still driving but don't tell anyone.
Just spent 12 hours wallpapering, but wallpaper paste comes off quite easily

i find just rubbing it with my finger gets the sticky residue off quite easily. You need ot roll it into a ball and pick it off.

The things you are talking about are called glue dots.
