well let me start by saying these train are modern and alot nicer than the 465 but i do like the 465s better the reason for this is that the 465s actually have seats the 376 is intended for short journeys on the suburban routes now it is a smart idea to add extra standing space but the limited amout of seats is a big issue. also the try and compremise by putting seat on the bins this is a extremely bad ideas as they are only perch seats. the other problem is that they dont have toilets meaning they can only do short journeys

Is the number of seats really an issue? They're Metro units used on metro routes- in other countries, the equivalent routes and trains may only have longitudinal seating (and plastic, not upholstered, to boot). I've only used them once or twice, but they seem to be a class doing exactly what they were designed for with little fuss.

these are one of my favorate trains running in the capital today these do the job they have and underground style seating arragement meaning that has loads of standing room which is good because there is about 2 minutes inbetween stations this is ideal for inner city transport

They run on most of Southeastern's "Metro" branded routes from Canon Street and Charing Cross. Not quite as "underground" style inside as the 378s, and they don't have the wide open intra unit gangways. Five car units, often in ten car formation. Whilst they have transverse seating, they do have large standing areas with perches.

I also notice that 376s don't have air conditioning, whilst on the other hand the 378s do.

Can't you look it up on google?

Now google does have access to a lot of information but as far as I'm aware it has yet to tap directly into peoples brains so I don't know how google will know what peoples favourite DMUs and EMUs are? ;)

Compared with a 378 they have no DOO cameras, no electronic destination blinds on the sides of the train and 'make' do with only 8 motors for a 5 car unit.

'Networkers', 'Electrostars', 'Desiros'. Brilliant EMUs and a massive improvement over the trains they replaced. I do like the SR 'Slamdoor EMUs (As an enthusiast) but lets just be honest. :)

Totally disagree.

I completely hate Class 376s. (I live in South London too) I hate them and prefer a Cl465 over them anytime. There cramped, horrible, dark, uncomftable, the seatings horrible and so on.

A Cl465 is far better, its more spacious, comftable seating, less cramped and so on...

Not sure how you came to the conclusion that a 465 is "more spacious" and "less cramped" - they have considerably less legroom than a 376 and the seats are rather small! I don't really like either of them though.

The EPBs were infinitely more comfortable than both the 376s and 465s in my view.

Without wanting to sound rude, isn't this like the 3rd thread where you've basically just made a comment about a type of train?

The 376s look very spartan but I guess they do the job at the end of the day? And I rememebr reading about the Anti Social behaviour on the lines they serve so the solid seats should stand the test of time!

I travel on them alot, and I prefer them over the Cl376s they feel more spacious and less cramped. Thats just a personal view. :)

465's are pretty good even though I've not travelled a lot in them, when I have they've been pretty damn good. 365's are on my local line so I can see similar aspects!! :D
