i think with Scotrail its mearly RG supplying stock - staff certainly seam not only to serve onboard but also to load there own trolley according to a few crew iv spoken too.

At one point a similar supply chain serviced TPE s crossborder runs although unsure what happens.
Think the sleaper is same.

I doubt they would put it on twitter in anyways. The buffets still get used when there is no RG trolley/staff or overcrowding. That I heard from platform staff.

On the 222 I passed at Sheffield today the full buffet was open e.g. Counter open display racks/fridges in use. Even the auto station PA said "a buffet service of hot and cold refreshments is available". Is this new? I thought if they used the counters unexpectedly (trolley faults etc) they would just dock the trolley behind it.

Whatever they serve from, EMT could certainly do with stocking up with some sandwiches on their evening runs from St Pancras. Was on an 18:30 departure recently with not so much as a sausage role available, which frankly doesn't really cut it for an InterCity service IMO.

They use that PA announcement for XC as well, and they don't have buffets.

Yes but on this train the full Buffet was being ran. I have always heard the trolley announcement for XC.
