EMT Ticket Collection Machines

EMT seem to be installing Ticket Collection Machines (with no Purchase facility) at Sheffield.

Sheffield has for far too long been way under-served in terms of ticket facilities, they could do with about double what they presently have!

They've done the same thing at Derby.

I've noticed collection-only TVMs at certain Southern stations for a while now.

They honestly can't come online quick enough - the queues last Friday in Sheffield were ridiculous - tailing right the way back to M&S!

Tried one this morning - they print tickets a lot quicker than the S&B machines!

However tickets booked without a credit card (RSH loyalty tickets, ..) return an error about the need to use an RSP-approved credit card to pick up the tickets.

I'm sure I've picked up such tickets from the old machines previously without any trouble, just using any credit card.

I tried a Tesco Clubcard yesterday to pick up an any-card ticket, but it didn't work

Incidentally, these new machines print the 'Ticket type' as ADVANCE on both the ticket and the reservations.

(Normally the reservation coupons have the Ticket type as 'SEAT')

Perhaps I could claim I have three tickets rather than one and two seat reservations..
