First post from me.
I've enjoyed looking at the forum for a few weeks and thought it was time to take part.
I've my assessment day at Lincoln next Thursday, who else is going?

Bit bemused by the idea of a talent pool for Spalding - 20 odd trains a day and one person in the ticket office for a few hours. Maybe they're after GPRs covering the whole area?

They use talent pooling now - it will be for potentially local positions at Lincoln and more likely General Purpose Relief positions based at Lincoln covering the other out stations as required. Sleaford and Spalding in particular are dead men's shoes positions - Kim and David have been in post for many years and neither look like moving on any time soon - but the Lincoln reliefs cover their rest days if they don't want overtime.

General Purpose Relief means you are based in one local and sent out to others as required to cover people's days off or sickness. Driving licence and vehicle will be essential for that position because you will be covering a large part of Lincolnshire - you could be working at Spalding one day and Skegness the next.

I'd be keen to know who's time I'd be travelling in and whether it's paid or not for covering the various stations.
