Sunday IC125 and Meridian 222s Leicester to St Pancras services are being diverted over the Manton Junction to Kettering line crossing the 1,275 yards (1.166 km) long 82 arch Harringworth viaduct over the Welland valley, not forgetting a few long tunnels as well!! Scenic ride if you havent done the run

Down trains run off the main line north of Kettering and onto the Corby line and join the Peterborough line at Manton junction through Oakham and Melton to Syston jnct then into Leicester on the Up main line before switching dircetion and departing on the down line past Syston to Loughborough and the North

Up trains obviously reverse the above just check if you get on at kettering that the return stops there:oops: otherwise you will have atrip to St Pancras and back to boot

Not as rare a trip as it used to be now that there are daily early morning and evening trains from Melton and Oakham to London and back over the once freight only route and the odd charter runs
