On Sunday I plan to make the journey from St Pancras to Long Eaton.

I hope to do so with the return leg of an off-peak Nottingham - St Pancras return ticket, and a single from East Midlands Parkway to Long Eaton.

The train I plan on catching will stop at EMP. Can I just get clarification this is a valid split please?

Yes that's fine your train calls at the split point and you can have a break of journey on the Nottingham - St Pancras ticket.

That is definitely valid (being as the off-peak ticket is valid all day Sunday and BOJ is permitted).

Assuming of course that it's not a Via Grantham ticket.

The split is definitely valid, but I don't believe it is neccessary. EMT/EC will happily sell Nottingham - Long Eaton (- Derby) - London as a valid route on a Nottingham - London ticket.

Why are you buying additional tickets? Nottingham - London is valid via Long Eaton.

Is it? I hadn't bothered to look as
a) I didn't think it would be and
b) don't want no trouble yo'. The extra ticket is only a pound-something anyway.

Yes, valid without even looking it up. Looked it up before way too many times.
