EMT restrictions on LEI to Skeg

Hi All,

I have tickets that my mate bought for me for a bash this weekend (03 Aug) to travel on the Derby Skeg HST from Peterborough as it was cancwelled on the 20th.

The tickets are adult offpeak Leicester to Skegness return and I was wondering, these are not normally valid via peterborough, but with the engineering works, would I be allowed to join the HST at PBO and travel to skeg and return to PBo then get my XC turbostar back home? cause I don't think my mate thought about that to well when he bought the tickets.... :roll:

We have information on routeing during engineering work - in short, the answer is: yes.

Additionally, booking sites are giving itineraries via Peterborough, and any booking made with an accompanying itinerary is deemed valid. An itinerary on the return 1640 working is no problem, but the booking engines won't give an itinerary on the HST to Skegness as it wants to put you on an earlier unit changing at Sleaford, but an itinerary showing the route should be good evidence of validity.

East Midlands Trains have issued a retail brief saying such routings are valid for the duration of the engineering works - for passengers travelling to Leicester and destinations south of there, a similar easement applies from Lincoln via Sheffield (though PBO is also an option from there). There are also several other temporary routings, but I don't have the full list available at the moment.
