Grand Central refurbished HST also due out soon will the seating become high density or like the 180s?

Have Chiltern decided on the mk3s yet for Birmingham-London and what refurbishment will take place?

I've seen a CGI of the Chiltern MK3's, they're gonna be in for a while.. :)

I never really found out what the chiltern loco hauled service is? could anyone enlighten me?

They are going to hire in some 67 + MK3 sets to use on some London - Birmingham trains, to release 168s for Oxford services

Will miss sound of the GC HST's at doncaster, by time i got into hobby all engines had been refitted and i loved hearing the scream of GC HST's

I believe they actually purchased the MK3's themselves, so will only need to hire the 67's :)

The good thing about the Railways is just when it seems like the glory days are over proper trains return!!

PS read about Grand Central interior refurbishment in Rail but haven't heard much in forums...

That EMT 153 must be out very soon...

I read the other day that the GC refurb was part Mallard - including new Primarius seating. I dismissed it as total boll*cks though; will be interesting to see what has been done.

Perhaps its as comprehensive as the fHT 180 refurb? ;)

The Hull Trains refurb never took off though did it due to the failing 180s plus one unit running around debranded! They still plan to work on a more comprehensive refurb?

I would hope so. Whilst people will be able to understand the current state of the stock due to the problems they had with it, people being people, they wont forever!

The Grand Central HST should be released soon?

And was a date set for the inaugural EMT 153 to be released? I know the first takes longer... a 156 is being worked on to I think

Yes, there will be a 156 and a 153 out of service at the same time
