EMT Job Opportunities???

IVe been looking for a job on the railways for some time particularly with East Midlands Trains as they are my local TOC im interested in either station staff or conductor/Guard/Ticket Inspector work ive looked on EMTs website and e-mailed them but got no response, I was wondering where i should go from here. I would also at some point love to become a Driver, so what would I have to do to make that happen?? Im 21 and i live in Lincoln.

Lincoln is a bit out on a limb. You'd probably need to relocate. Try Eastcoast or FCC for station staff jobs along the ECML, or EC for guard's jobs based in London or Leeds.

Driving has been covered repeatedly on here. Think second career for people who have already held a responsible job.

yes, spelling and grammar has always been a problem for me, but i think some of it can be put down to my inability to type as well.

I was told by a member of staff at EMT the other day that recruitment for on train work is virtually closed for external candidates at present and that positions are being filled with Rail Gourmet staff who are being invited to apply. Seems like a strange policy in my opinion but I am only passing on what I was told!

Theres jobs at Sheffield and Derby for catering staff.... I've just applied.

i did a stint as station staff at sheffield and there was quite a few jobs around in the company as mentioned above there all internal though your best bet is properly to try and get to know somone in the company who can keep you up to date.

Lol I love EMT. 15 years service on the railway, 5 on trolley, 10 as guard, and they've just rejected me for a trolley steward job.

They must know I'm really a serial kil... no, hang on.....
