Guard has marked my Liverpool to New Brighton tickets instead of my Sheffield to Liverpool will next guard say these are void? Or when guard comes back ask for replacement tickets?

Get him to write on the back with his headcode, that's all I do when I make an error

The official line stated in The Manual (and in the Ticket Examiner's Handbook before that) is that the Conductor should circle the incorrect mark and endorse the ticket with their name, home station and train details.

Just point it out to the guard and he'll write something on the ticket to validate it.

Thanks panic averted she did both and put staff number on

Turned out we had two things in common working for Stagecoach albeit one train and me tram but our staff number three digits same in correct order.

Which led on to having a joke about things and doing job on auto pilot
