Hey all,

Im wondering what livery the HST that has revently been transferred to east coast will have? Will it be in the Green 225 livery, or the NXEC HST livery? I know it would look good in IC swallow, maybe if we write to EC we could get Swallow livery, just in EC colours?

Does anyone know when the unit will be repainted anyway?

Personally I think that a White/Green modified swallow would look excellent

Eh? What green livery? IC225s have been in IC Swallow (white/grey with a bit of red), GNER blue/red and EC silver/grey/purple. Where does green come from?

Personally I would like to see it in NXEC white (so that it matches the rest of EC HSTs) but I suspect that it will just get some sort of EC vinyls (hopefully better than the current slapdash job that's been done already) as the EMT paint job is fairly new.

It currently sports the EMT HST livery with 'EAST COAST' printed in massive white letters across the power cars and under the windows of the other carriages!

I expect it to receive the fag packet green, gold and white First Great Western livery....<D

I reckon it's going to be East Coast sliver/purple if we're going to be logical about this!

I think you mean power cars as if the HST had DVTs at each end it wouldn't be going anywhere at all very quickly what with the lack of any sort of motive power ;)

(DVT means Driving (a cab) Van (luggage space) Trailer (unpowered))

Not necessarily, the 460s have a 'luggage van' but it's designated a DMLFO

Well for one thing I think you would struggle to fit many more letters into that designation! I guess the difference is perhaps that a DVT carries no passenger accommodation whilst the 460s 'luggage van' does, so maybe that's why they use L rather than V?

Was it with the LM 86 and 8 car Pendolino? :D

Seriously though, I don't think that's ever existed!

Read it a bit more closely Lampshade, he said 'like' ;)

The closest thing that I think he could be on about is the old MML livery, but that's long gone :|

I don't think there is much might about it that is definitely GNER blue/red (with the NXEC/EC white stripe) ;)

That's because it isn't entirely a "van"- the other common coaching stock to have the "V" was the Generl Utility Van. What with having passenger accomodation (the First Open) bit) "Van" would not be a correct designation.

Anyways, what liveries do we think/would like it to go into?

I’d prefer it to end up in the NXEC style silver/white livery, which currently gives a very clearly defined distinction between East Coasts’ 125s and 225s.

I wonder if it’ll just remain the “odd one out” until the new East Coast franchise is let (whenever that’ll be), although isn’t the current East Coast livery meant to be the standard template for all future East Coast franchises (perish the thought)?

For me it's pretty much the same as sprinterguy, I would like it to be in NXEC white so that it matches the rest of the fleet. But to be honest I suspect it will remain an odd one out until the next full repaint is due (or perhaps when EC is refranchised).

not so worried about the exterior, would be nice if it was given a Mallard interior to match the rest of the fleet.

Personally I like the Interior of EMT HST's It gives a nice lounge feel to them. However I understand on packed services High backed seats do give MUCH more priviacy, however on Lightly used fasts during the day to london from nottingham, I think I would prefer an EMT unit (however the seats are getting a little squeeky in the springs)

The EC website refers to "HST Main" and "HST B" trains on the list of seating plans. Anyone know if the EMT pressie is the HST B?
