First post and all that, hello all,

Anyone from EMT on here advise me roughly on the salary of the Customer service officer job currently being advertised please? I'm pretty well qualified for this but live around the hour mark away and wonder if the expensive commute would be economically viable?

Also, I passed the group bourdon and SCAAT tests at a Southern assessment centre in January (though I then went and completely flunked the line manager interview), would these be recognised by EMT? Was told by Southern at the time they'd be on a national database?

Have had a lifelong interest in the railways and desperate to get a start somewhere!

Thanks

Hi Darren1980,
I have been on an assessment day with EMT for customer service talent pool a few weeks ago and I am more than happy to answer any questions you have.
Not sure exactly how much you will get for Customer Service officer job, but I did phone HR and they told me customer facing roles vary in salary between 17,000 and 22,000 depending on how senior the role is. You will however start on a training salary which could be as low as 14,000. If you ring HR they may be able to tell you exact salary and training salary specific for CSO role.
Don't forget you would get free travel on EMT if you are successful.
You talked about tests, this would be EMT choice if they accept or not and possibly if you meet their pass benchmark.
Hope this info helps x
