I know that all three diagrams are Booked for 153s but one does Start off in the Morning Peak as a 158 Do we know which one this is and how do they do the change over and what does the 158 go onto and how does the 153 that replaces the 158 ?

Also do all three 153s Return as a trio back to Derby then ECS to Nottingham or something different ?

I believe I've read somewher that some units off Derby turns (I can't remember how many, it may just be 1) stable at Crewe, with the crews returning to Derby by taxi.
Also, whenever I have travelled over the line, which admittably has only been on Saturdays, I have only ever seen 158s work.

153s are Deployed now as From December 2008 timetable change laugh when the Horse Racing is on at Uttoxeter or Football you tend to get at least one 158 and if your even more lucky you may get a 153 + 156.

Also i cannot see the crewe returning By taxi to Derby as for one they are worked By Nottingham Crewe, I think What may hapen is all finish at Crewe then they work in trio on the Last jorney to Derby then ECS from Derby to Nottingham with the Crewes traveling passenger.

Looking at the timetable, the last weekday departure from Crewe is at 20:45, yet services from Derby arrive at 20:59 and 21:59, so the units from these two service must either work back ecs, possibly as a pair or stable. The fact that the first two services leave Crewe before the first arrival from Derby suggests to me that they probably stable.

All booked for 153s? It's all 158s when I've seen it! Well, I've seen a 156 on a Stoke service twice and a 153 at 0630 is on a weekday but that's all! As for joining with Matlock ones it'd be impractical as the timings don't interconnect well, considering it takes about 30 mins to Matlock and about an hour and a quater from Crewe. If they were to go Crewe-Stoke-Uttoxeter-Derby-Whatstandwell-Matlock this would be better

Or how about they just run as they are franchised to do, all the way to Nottingham!
