Currently on the Liverpool to Norwich EMT service... I'm actually staggered at how much nicer it is inside this 158 compared to the pile of rubbish that Northern run... Same in many ways, but the seats aren't saggy, they look clean inside, nicer interior, although very similar, better lighting, air con that works... Why do we have to accept such rubbish from Northern ! Angry now !

air con was at full blast over the weekend on the EMT 158's I travelled on. I was shivering at one point!

Very true Tom ;) well observed...

Just watching a 4 carriage Pacer screech into the station from hell - well that's my press ion from the look of horror on the passengers faces ;)

I've been on a couple of EMT ones in the last week and they were like an oven. Nice enough trains when they are not crammed.

I remember the first time I saw a pacer: as I was standing at Garforth with a 185 coming into the platform (that is was getting on), in the other direction, in the distance I could see 142 rolling in with both carriages bouncing independently in a see-saw fashion. As it pulled in I couldn't even see the northern branding as it was caked in filth. And they say first impressions count…
