Just tried to book return tickets to Nottingham from St Pancras on 9-10 October. Got there in the end but website was really unsatisfactory, two questions for this group if anyone has any insights:
- It kept proactively offering me first class upgrades for very small sums ranging from £1.50 (for three) to £10-ish, but at checkout it said these tickets weren’t available (despite the website having offered them to me) and I had to go back to square one
- On the return on the Sunday, whichever train I tried it said reservations weren’t available, even though they were for the Saturday. Given how busy Sunday trains are, surely it’s odd and a recipe for overcrowding not to have reservations available? Or was this an error in the system too?
