Interesting RE the 153 swap, in the past timetable it used to be attached to the back of the last Cleethorpes - Lincoln service of the day, which was very odd as this made a 4 coach unit on probably the quietest service of the day. I was half expecting they would do the same with the service on two services RTT - but making them all 4 cars rather than ECS.

There is indeed an ECS in tomorrow morning ;)

There was an ECS move each way Eastcroft to Cleethorpes on Tuesday, looking at RTT this is the case Tuesday and Thursday next week too.. so every week possibly?
In as a STP path for the next two weeks on Tuesday and Thursdays with the changeover happening on the 1048 arrival/1056 departure at Cleethorpes.

Hi JTAirbus. Welcome to the forum! It says access denied when I try to read that pdf. Can you attach it to a post on here? Thanks

Finaally started at looking at the updated regional diagrams for the 170's. At least two seem to work the Matlock - Derby shuttle and at least one on the Leicester - Grimsby but not sure if there are any other diagrams. I assume the 3 car units may still work the Robin Hood line.

They seemed to disappear altogether for a while, as the last time I was in Lincolnshire all services were 156 operated. I am back shortly so will post an update. As the diagram you have got ends in Cleethorpes another one must be around. Looks like they must be getting the train crew knowledge sorted.

looking at the seat finder tool I see a 130 seat train on the list. I assume that is a 170. Never managed to figure out the 158 / 156 from that tool.

There are various diagrams that run Monday or Friday only.

There's 2 on the Matlocks, booked 2 car but anything can turn up. There's a Derby - Notts - Grantham then Skegness 3 times followed by Leicester and back to Derby. There's some Lincolnshire work to Peterborough as well as Leicester - Grimsby, there's also Worksop diagrams.

What they actually do is dictated by train crew and unit availability.

Does anyone know what diagrams the 156s currently work on weekdays and Saturdays please? Thanks very much

Were is your nearest access point to EMR?

Recently I have seen them in the following areas.

Leicester - Lincoln - Grimsby (the 1339 Grimsby - Leicester Saturday seems to throw one up).
Peterborough - Doncaster
Skegness - Nottingham
Newark Castle - Crewe.

Specifics are difficult as I have seen 156 and 158s on the same diagram. I have seen them on Norwich - Liverpool although I don't think they are diagrammed. I think if you can stick around Nottingham or Lincoln for a couple of hours you will find some.

Not really anywhere on that network is near me as i'm in Cornwall, I would probably choose Nottingham thanks for the advice there.

Recently the Norwich/Nottingham - Liverpool services have reverted to 2 x 158 or 156 + 158
The Attached unit just does Nottingham - Liverpool and is normally at the North End out of Nottingham reversing at Sheffield

Can anybody confirm if the EMR class 180 diagrams on this thread still apply?

Weekdays definitely still apply. Sundays will probably no longer exist due to the strike action reducing the timetable and I'm not sure about Saturday.

With the timetable change post 1 has been updated. By the looks of things there are one or two more double sets at peak times between Sheffield and London.

Will continue to update throughout the week.

Post 1 has what I believe are the current diagrams for Monday to Saturday though most of it is based off Real Time Trains allocations.
Oh I see, the first post is constantly being updated, cheers; haven't been here in a while  so it's mostly select Crewe-Nottingham-Newark services plus Peterborough-Lincoln-Doncaster and Leicester-Grimsby for 2-car units and Nottingham to Worksop and Skegness for 3-car units so far; that should help me plan some decent 170 bashes if I find the time to do an East Midlands Rover ticket or summat! Look forward to seeing what other routes the 170 gets put on as more join the fleet; would be a big help if they went on the flagship Norwich-Liverpool interregional service to while it's still not split yet, so I can see some here in Manchester!

Yes post 1 just keeps getting updated when required and obviously things can change on the day. For example only 1 170 is out on the Crewe - Newark's today but there is one on the Matlock branch instead. As for the Liverpool - Norwich service there was 1 diagram which was between Nottingham and Norwich & return for a short period but nothing now.

Yeah, I was thinking of doing a Crewe to Derby run or Newark then onwards to Lincoln in order to catch some 170 action, but anything can happen of course! Could possibly squeeze in a Lincoln to Peterborough bash if the 170 runs that way often too. BTW is Worksop a town worth visiting if that's where the 170 mainly runs right now?

Not really worth spending much time in Worksop. The Creswell Crags however are pretty fascinating if you like ancient history.

Post 1 updated to include Sunday diagrams for both intercity and 170 workings. The 180 diagrams include 2 returns a a double set until splitting at Nottingham late afternoon. 170's mostly work the Robin Hood, Lincoln and Skegness routes.

156405 is on the 0951 Liverpool to Norwich today paired with 158812.

The diagram with the 0818 Derby to Notts, 0850 Notts Skegness etc is NM304, booked 3 car 170, 419 was allocated initially but not available for traffic so 156909 was substituted.

Sorry if this has already been asked but regarding 180s - today on the 10:00 we have a 5-car 180 (diagrams in Post #1 state this is normally 10) - and there is a 4-car 180 out so this is 4 vice 5 on another diagram. What's happened to the other 180s? And why is this now a 4 car?

Thanks. I have moved the diagram to the 3 car section.

The 4 180's all used in a common pool for the 2 daily diagrams but 180110 is a 4 car unit after problems was found with one of the coaches. This will mean that sometimes it will be a 4 vice 5 on the diagram that day.

For today it looks like the first part of the first diagram has been missed and is now picked up by 180110 with the 1745 from Nottingham after coming empty from Etches Park.

Planning a trip on an EMR 180 next week I’m guessing the two diagrams are still correct?
