Why doesn't the early Nottingham to Liverpool call at Hazel Grove on weekends? Not entirely related to 170s, however it is 170-operated!

It does. 0635 off Nottingham, 1R52. The 0521 1R50 doesn't and never has.

1R52 is 2 car 170 this morning. Good job it's work from home Friday. The 6 car experiment isn't going well.
After losing a 158 to a tree strike earlier this week a westbound 4 car 158 was terminated at Sheffield yesterday, apparently due to a defective horn not the blizzard then being experienced.
Managing this route must be a nightmare.

I'm not sure if this is mentioned but on 170419 I noticed that the former first class seats have been reupholstered using the same purple fabric as the other (standard class) seats. It may be the same on the other ex Scotrail units
