Lol typical met camm!416 is being held up by 409's rather long corrosion works not completing on time. Once 409's finished and put back on it's bogies it will go for rebuild, then 416 corrosion work can commence. Just as an insight, this is a view of the underframe of one vehicle of 416 once the interior flooring has been removed.

Just to clarify, 417 will be coming to Northern once it's been through Wolverton. So no requirement for an additional unit there.
Oh yes, theyve had a good innings. No offence intended, but met camm and rust did always have an affiliation, even going back to 70s DMS london buses. These trains are 35 years old, the prospective end of their design life when ordered. They don't owe the railway anything to be fair, this corrosion is to be expected and not a dubious reflection of the materials used in their construction or workmanship at Washwood Heath.
I thought 917 was stood down? It's just not moved to Barrow Hill yet though.156405/406/408/411/413 and 917 still in operation.
It has worked to Lincoln tonight having gone ECS from Derby to Nottingham.I thought 917 was stood down? It's just not moved to Barrow Hill yet though.
I'd guess that was the case as well, especially given that prior to yesterday it hadn't been out in a while. It's now down for the 1800 Mansfield Woodhouse too. It's quite possible that it is on limited usage and has been kicked out given the small number of 156s left
Just a small point..The Class 156 bodies were made by Procor at Wakefield..These trains are 35 years old, the prospective end of their design life when ordered. They don't owe the railway anything to be fair, this corrosion is to be expected and not a dubious reflection of the materials used in their construction or workmanship at Washwood Heath.
Not all of them. The shell build was split 118 Procor, 60 WH Davis at Langwith Jct and 50 Standard Wagon at Heywood.Just a small point..The Class 156 bodies were made by Procor at Wakefield..
Just a smaller point, roughly half of the 156 bodies were made at Wakefield. Can't remember where the others were off the top of my head, but think it was a couple of other places.Just a small point..The Class 156 bodies were made by Procor at Wakefield..
as were the Class 60 bodies…
Dead right.. Wikipedia has full details..W.H.Davis and Standard Wagon were the other two..Just a smaller point, roughly half of the 156 bodies were made at Wakefield. Can't remember where the others were off the top of my head, but think it was a couple of other places.
I don’t believe it was 156413 that failed. It was 1L11 the train in front of it that failed at Widnes and 1L12 (413’s train) that assisted it.Believe 156413 failed today on the Liverpool corridor with brakes! Doesn't help! Formed an 8 car back to Nottingham over an hour late and took Dore East to keep it in formation.
Due out tomorrow (17th) approx. 09:30 departure. Is 156403 due to leave ATC Crewe yet? It went for repainting on 31st January.
Found it:Due out tomorrow (17th) approx. 09:30 departure.
I mean it's moving to Newton Heath T.M.D. so I'd assume soIs 156403 now with Northern?
Did you ever find out what was on this?Is this 409 going to northern?
