I am a bit confused here. I submitted an Application for Senior Conductor with EMR for the Lincoln Depot. I received instructions for 2 online Assessments on Saturday.
Yesterday, I received an email to say I have been shortlisted, before I have even taken the tests. One is verbal reasoning, which I find quite hard to to lol.
I'm hoping I can get this, as I am already in the grade with one TOC, but I want to move back home.

If you’re already safety critical, it may well be that you don’t need to undertake the online tests. Touch base with the Talent Team to confirm what they need you to do.

I know that verbal reasoning is often done after shortlisting but before the assessment day.

Be aware that EMR do recruit into Talent Pools and that I’m aware of at least one other assessment day for Lincoln in the last few months.

It could be that. The Verbal Reasoning test had to be done by yesterday, and there was a safety critical test, to be done by today. I've done them seeing as it was Bank Holiday Weekend.
Thanks for your response, on this. I did attend an event in 2019, but the assessment part was cancelled. I just will not give up on this. I've been on the Railway nearly 7 years, but as much as I love my role. I've nothing keeping me in the South East.

Hi Northernboy,
I am just going thorough the conductor process for Derby. I have also received ‘you are shortlisted’ email before completing any tests. I had already passed both TFRS and SCAAT but they have ‘reviewed’ their testing process and added SAT and Verbal reasoning instead of TFRS now. I have competed tests(not SCAAT as I’ve passed that one recently) and still waiting for the results. Also job advert stated assessment day would be on 2nd of May, again another thing confused me as it was a bank holiday but heard nothing about it yet so I guess still waiting to hear.

I would suggest you email them and ask them to check if you passed any tests in the last 2 years, if not you may be required to take and pass the tests.

Hope this helps and good luck on your application

Good luck! Bank holidays mean nothing on the railway in terms of it’s a normal working day unless on annual leave or a rest day. Could be they’re that busy with recruitment that was the only day available.

They’re quite possibly really busy. No news is good news.

I was in this process too. It’s been 10 days now. Still not heard anything. Does it usually take this long to hear any confirmation either way ?

Where are you in the recruitment stage? Ten days since when?
