Emergency engineering works in Portsmouth area tonight

Hello all!

There seems to be a major problem since the evening of Sunday 17th which may affect the early morning runs around the portsmouth area. Does anyone know what the issue specifically is? Thanks!

Don't know what the track layout is like but my guess would be either a power supply problem with the 3rd rail or a major signalling failure

Whatever it was, it was known in advance and an Occupation was planned to start at 2230. GWR were showing alterations to their late services on Journey Check earlier in the day. Could have been a rail problem not serious enough to prevent trains running and and occupation taken when train services were winding down for the night.
