Emergency Engineering Works & Delay Repay

I have a First Advance for next Saturday from St Ives to Guildford changing at Reading.
NRE is now showing (which it didn't when I booked the ticket) that there are emergency engineering works in the Reading area that day and there is a replacement bus operating Theale to Reading.

I've a couple of questions:
1. If I'm delayed over an hour based on the original timing of the journey can I claim delay replay?
2. Using my ticket do I have the option to change at Exeter for the SWR service and change at Woking as this is what I would have booked if I'd known there would be a RRB (I will have heavy luggage). GWR don't yet have the engineering works or advice on their website.

It's 'specified trains & GWR connections only' with the specified train being a reservation from St Erth to Reading .... so I think I know what the answer is...

You could return and cancel your existing tickets due to the engineering works at no penalty an rebook using the SWR route

In that case I don't think you would be allowed to use the SWT service. It looks like you're ticket is valid on GWR only.

I didn't think you could get a refund on advance tickets?

Not normally, but you can if the train you were originally booked on has been cancelled since you made the booking.

Well, the train hasn't been cancelled. It just has a bus for part of the journey.

You can still obtain a refund with no admin fee.
