Recent knowledge of mine has find out that the E&BAR may be looking at extensions.
At the moment the old station platform at Bolton Abbey is being cleared and a new one is to be put into place. By doing this, they have more room for and extension to Addingham via the old trackbed which is still in place.
At the other end of the line there is talks that there are being studies made into going back into Skipton station via Platform 5 which is still in place, yet in need of a good de-weeding! To do this they would have to reinstate an old piece of track from the current Bow Bridge Loop onto the rails from the Skipton to Swinden Quarry branch. Thsi would be great as this then means they could run trains from Skipton to Embsay and BA but they could also run to the quarry which is near Grassington which is popular with Tourists.
Of course they could then extend back to Threshfield and reinstate and old station there. The land which was once occupied by Threshfield station is now built on, yet there is room further up which would be perfect!(I live in Threshfield so this would be great!:D)
If anyone knows of anymore info, please PM me or add to this forum.
