Received email sent 06:05 this morning saying my journey on Thursday 28th July on the Elizabeth Line from Paddington to Reading departing 1559 is cancelled (tickets split at Taplow).

However the exact same journey is still being sold on Trainsplit, also TPE, also checked on RTT.

No engineering work showing for this line/date on NRE. I appreciate it’s the day after a strike day but that shouldn’t affect late afternoon services should it?

Don’t want to rebook if this train is running, was looking forward to trying out the Elizabeth Line. Can anyone clarify what’s going on?

Edit: it’s showing as a valid journey on tfl.gov.uk too.

The train is showing as CAN on Realtime Trains, with a replacement STP path put in, running to exactly the same timings.

My guess is it's to do with a contingency timetable due to the previous day's strike. They presumably cancelled the entire timetable and then added the trains that were running.

But in any case it looks like the train is running.

TrainSplit uses the RDG timetable comparator service to determine when passengers need to be notified of service changes. Retail sites that use this service are required to send notifications out if certain types of changes (e.g. cancellations) are reported.

It is supposed to handle cases where a service is cancelled and then replaced by a service with the same timings, but in this case it hasn't.

Well yes, but I didn't want to encroach on peak time restrictions, not being familiar with the set-up in London.

Also don't want to arrive in Reading too late. The 1559 was ideal for a few reasons.
