Ely to Bristol and Exter to Ely

I have to go on the 5.25 departure from Ely to Bristol on 16th April.

Ihave to return on the 13.55 from Exeter St Davids to Ely on the same day.

I am an adult - no rail card - travelling on my own.

I could start or finish my journey at Stowmarket - leaving there on the 1st train out and getting back there around 19.00, if it is cheaper.

What is the cheapest combination of tickets.

Are you sure you mean 15 April? That is a Sunday and those train times do not correspond with the timetable.
