Ely platforms "L" and "G" on RealTimeTrains?

Today I've noticed some trains at Ely shown as calling at platforms "L" and "G", according to RealTimeTrains, which I've never seen before. What do these letters mean?

L = Loop, G = Goods - the two lines behind P3. Not sure why they're being shown that way for the passenger services but possibly the unit terminated in a platform then shunted across.

Reminds me of the non-existent 'Platform D' showing for trains at Glasgow Queen St

If that was low-level, could have been Down Platform? Or possible an old siding still hanging about in the system.

Note the second of those services was cancelled because of a track circuit failure at Ely, and both the passenger trains were severely delayed there - would suggest to me there was some "interesting" routing or order of occupation going on that has confused RTT or it's data feeds on where the train actually was.

On the other hand, G is probably just the Goods loop.

I think it was for High Level trains eg the Annieslands.

Just had a look on RTT and that service is down as using platform 2.

Platform 3 is the Up Platform Loop, so as others have said, the other 2 services you quoted probably used P3 but for some reason the data feed didn't deliver the data as expected and it got RTT a little confused.

The sectional appendix has the following for Ely Station :- Down Main (Platform1), Up Main (P2), Up Platform Loop (P3), Through Siding, Up Goods Loop.

I don't recall mention of a "Platform D", but I remember when the Queen Street departure board showed various trains leaving from "Platform Q".

It was on RTT, though I think that Platform Q is actually 'Platform Queue' eg a football or concert train or just a train that people need to queue up to board.

Looking at all of the Ely arrivals and departures this morning, it seems like the track circuit failure prevented any arrivals into platform 3 from the down direction.

Many of the trains that come into Ely from the Cambridge direction and terminate were turned short, and platform 3 was mostly used by the EMR trains that come in from the north and reverse.
