I have just completed the latest updates for my Ellon-Boddam railway web site. I managed to make contact with an Alan Sangster who wrote a book on the line back in the 80's and he has given me permission to use some of his old photos and he has also added some comment.

From my three walks in September I gained well over 100 new photos and have edited them down to suite. It made for three new sections Pitlurg-Achmacoy, Achmacoy-Balmacassie and then Ellon Station site.

The other sections extended with many new photos and comment is the Longhaven-Boddam and the Cruden Bay Station & Viaduct pages, with one effort at showing a Now & Then photo, which describes how the station looked and fits into the present day empty field.

All new photos are under blue text. Quite a fair bit. Watch out for the links to old photos near the bottom of the pages, especially at the end of each section.

Overall it makes quite a comprehensive picture and story of the old railway. Lots of new photos and comment.

You will require broadband for most of the pages to load quickly.

Cheers.
