TfL generally either issues Penalty Fares or prosecutes for fares irregularities on the Elizabeth line, yes. However, other train companies such as GWR may also be involved in revenue protection activities at stations which are served by the Elizabeth line.

Do you have a specific reason for asking - have you been involved in an irregularity?

yes i am currently waiting for a verification letter. hoping to settle out of court but if it is tfl according to this forum this is highly unlikely. my circumstances are not great either. i regret my actions and i have been suffering mentally since. on a recent FOI request, tfl said they were not aware of elizabeth line prosecution data as this was outsourced. are you sure it is tfl who deal with prosecutions?

That’s not something we are aware of. TfL deal with the prosecutions. Can you link us to the relevant FOI?

Where exactly were you caught and what were the circumstances?

You could be dealing with either TfL or GWR, TfL is more likely but it is not impossible that you’re dealing with GWR.

the took my details and confirmed my address with someone on the phone and gave me a ticket to travel from langley to west drayton

I think you need to be more specific about exactly what happened. Being outside the station without a ticket is not an offence, so there must be something more you haven't told us yet.

there was an offence which i dont feel comfortable to disclose. i would greatly appreciate it if you could tell me whether it is tfl or gwr and whether elizabeth line uses the same prosecution team as the london underground who dont settle out of court

Unfortunately we aren't going to be able to give you any meaningful help or advice you unless you can tell us the full details of what has happened. I appreciate it may be something you feel ashamed or anxious about but ultimately honesty is necessary to help.

According to this webpage, MTREL also do targeted ticketing checks, see the Travel Safe Officer.

With the limited information you have given us, we cannot tell you with any certainty.
