I'm pretty sure the answer is yes, but can anyone confirm that this ticket:

http://www.brfares.com/#faredetail?orig=EPH&dest=CUF&rlc=2TR&rte=790&tkt=CBA

is valid
Thameslink: Elephant & Castle - St Pancras International
Great Northern: King's Cross - Finsbury Park
Great Northern: Finsbury Park - Cuffley

The ticket is only available at weekends when there are no through trains from the Thameslink core to Finsbury Park.

Yes, that is a valid route. Journey planners suggest taking the Underground from St Pancras to Highbury & Islington but the precise route you take is up to you. Note that the 'not Underground' and 'via City Thameslink' fares cost the same amount so it is better to obtain the latter, as this enables you to take the Underground on interavailable routes (such as St Pancras to Highbury & Islington).

Thanks.

The ticket proved quite difficult to buy online.

SWR (my usual ticketing site due to Nectar points) said no fares or itineraries were available between E&C and Cuffley.

I tried other sites - including GTR's own - but they wanted to sell an expensive anytime ticket.

Eventually I returned to SWR and specified St Pancras as a via point, which yielded the £6.10 fare..

At King's Cross St Pancras the man on the LU gateline initially pronounced it invalid (pointing to the "via City Thameslink" wording he said "that's a Thameslink ticket" but he relented when I pointed out Cuffley is on the Great Northern line out of Moorgate and we wanted to change at Highbury & Islington.
