Does anyone know if there are increased the loading gauge to W10/12 on the Manchester and GWML route because of the electrification?

Is it standard to upgraded a gauge to W10/12 during an electrification process?

W12 is a slight additional width (only 10 cm) compared to W10, so it isn’t really directly related to electrification clearance; and so it isn’t automatically achieved as a result of wiring.

Hey, thanks for the reply.

How about W10?
I believe it’s similarly not automatic, achieving W10 where it didn’t already exist, (as an upgrade from say W8), wouldn’t necessarily provide enough height for wiring, this was done on the Basingstoke to Southampton routes. On the other hand if a wiring project could be done at minimum headroom it wouldn’t automatically provide for W10 either.
