Electric buses in York: Poppleton P&R

My grandma was asking whether the Poppleton park and ride had opened in York, or whether it was on the way.

Checking the York P&R website I noticed that York had won funding and were running part of the service with all electric buses?

The only picture I've been able to find using 'York, electric bus, park and ride' brought up small Optare vehicles which I personally would have thought were too small...

Does anyone have any pictures or ideas of the stock they'll be using?

Apparently it opens on June 8th, though there still seemed to be a lot of roadworks going on when I travelled out of York on the A59 just over a week ago.

I presume the bus you found was the one at this page?

If so, I agree it does seem rather small for a P&R vehicle.

They're also to be used on the Monks across service where a charging point has been installed, despite the current Volvos being busy and a whole new retail park opening next to Monks Cross- they may be a bit crowded.

Chris Nelson is a mate of mine, you'll also find some photos of the Pennine buses on there too along with some of the heritage trams in Blackpool.

On topic, one of the Optare Versa's were used as a demonstrator earlier this year when it was parked up on Parliment Street over the course of a weekend.

Sorry not to be as knowledgeable on the matter of buses as all of you but can someone tell me what type of buses run the services 1, 2 and 3 on the Manchester Metroshuttle free buses that I see when I occasionally come into Manchester.

I'm so glad the site is nearing completion and will open over the next week, it's always annoyed me that there hasn't been a P&R site on the Wetherby side of York for all this time. Especially on the A59, whenever I've used the road it's certainly not been quiet!

I believe its the 1 and 3 that are Optare Versas and the 2 is run by Optare Solo SRs
