Edinburgh to Glasgow via Shotts problems Monday morning.

Does anyone know what caused the cancellations, short formations and late running on the Shotts line this morning?

Scotrail were unusually (even for them) reluctant to explain what was going on or why.

Some trains are listed as being cancelled due to power failure and others cancelled due to track circuit failure.

Thanks Tom it was all a bit mysterious.

Scotrail were telling folks that the service was running as normal even with trains being seemingly being cancelled at random all over the shot.

I see they are reporting that the Paisley Canal line is out of action and IIRC Corkerhill Depot is along that line - perhaps they had issues getting stock out of the depot....
