Apologies if there is already a thread related to this subject but Edinburgh station was looking very depressing when I was in it last week. Covered in scaffolding making it very dark and gloomy.
The posters at the stations don't give much away.
Has anyone got any further information regarding this subject?

Roof being replaced, was even worse when they were resurfacing the taxi area. makes the station look a right mess.

Have to agree - the darkness is positively Stygian! Not happy with the strange surface on the pavement OPPOSITE the taxi rank. It's like walking on a mattress in places! What is it?

I'm regularly told that the improvement works will bring a decent change to the station ambience. Does anyone have any artist's impressions of what the "new-look" Waverley will look like?

The pictures look reasonable, it is important that they keep the character of the building.

Wouldn't it be great if they rebuilt the old wooden booking office destroyed by official vandals in about 1970s....

Apparently the existing booking hall is being refurbished, but alas i do not think it will be back to the original:cry:

The station roof refurbishment will certainly let more light into the station.
Although the contractors have started at the Calton, East end of the station where there is not so many passangers at all, the main part, concourse & West end, will not be completed for around a couple of years.
Should look good then. :)
