Have just heard that my booking on Past-Time Rail's Edinburgh Flyer this Saturday (10 May), and indeed the whole trip, has been cancelled because Network Rail told them last Friday that there was no platform space available at Peterborough. Obviously, there was no time to book replacement coaches for going to Stevenage and so the whole thing was cancelled.
Can anyone tell me how Notwork Rail (sic) can give eight days notice when they must have accepted the booking at the start of the year? This underlines that company's incompetence to the highest degree. One is reminded of Jeremy Clarkson's comment on railways ("How hard can this be?").
Another trip ruined for over 300 people.:-x
