Are tickets from origins east of Edinburgh to Edinburgh valid to Edinburgh Park?

I am inclined to say no, you would need a ticket to Edinburgh Park (or beyond).

The tickets might be the same price, but that doesn’t make them valid.
In the same way that if I go to Birmingham University I need a ticket to University station even though it’s the same price as a ticket to Birmingham New Street.
Even though the Edinburgh Group of stations includes Edinburgh Park, it’s not permitted to start or end a journey at a different station in the group from the one stated on the ticket.

Some stations are grouped together to improve interchange between trains by offering customers access to a wider choice of train services and station facilities. This extended availability is for interchange purposes only and does not apply where the origin or destination stations are part of a group.

There is an agreement such that Haymarket tickets will be accepted (and work the barriers) at Waverley and vv - but as far as I'm aware there's no formal station group for Edinburgh stations.

No - there is acceptance between Haymarket and Edinburgh Waverley, but none beyond that to Edinburgh Park (or Gateway).

Maybe. Although I only looked at one pair of fares, it’s probably not universally true.
However they may be different restrictions applicable to the different tickets.

Routeing Groups generally have no relation to Station Groups used for pricing.

For example: There's a Banbury routeing group, containing Banbury and Kings Sutton, but there's no Banbury Stations fares group.

That was my point. This thread is a question about the validity of a ticket, for which a routeing point group is not relevant. A station group is relevant (as mentioned upthread) though.
