At about 21.00 last night I passed through Edgware Road and noticed a District Line train at one of the centre platforms with Olympia as its destination. Did the driver set the next trip incorrectly or was this a real journey? I thought trains to Olympia just shuttled to and from Earls Court (on the rare occasions that they run).

Frequent enough service but only at weekends.

I’m only guessing that it ran in service as an alteration to the working timetable for some reason. EG unit swap.Thank you - what an interesting document. There is something about the font and layout that makes it look like a fifty year old timetable.
Does that imply that the train I saw would run out of service from Edgware Road?
Olympia was my local station in summer 1983 so I‘m interested still in what goes on there; back then there was no District service except on special occasions such as exhibitions.
This was a planned journey because an amended timetable was running yesterday due to Network Rail engineering works on the Richmond branch.
